About the Role

Hodson Bay Hotel is seeking a dedicated Hotel Porter to become part of our friendly team, ideally someone fully flexible to work full-time hours including weekdays and weekends. Key Duties

• Deliver attentive assistance to guests, ensuring their needs are met throughout their stay for maximum satisfaction.
• Help guests with luggage during arrival and departure, ensuring safe handling and transport to their rooms.
• Offer guidance on hotel amenities, facilities, and local attractions to enhance guest experiences.
• Provide outstanding customer service, promptly addressing guest questions and requests courteously.
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct to consistently exceed guest expectations and leave a positive impression.
• Prepare conference and event areas by setting up rooms as per specified layouts and requirements.
• Support event organizers and attendees with logistics, including equipment setup, audiovisual requirements, and venue configurations.
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of conference and event spaces before, during, and after events.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or security risks to the relevant departments for quick resolution.
• Perform regular inspections of public areas to maintain presentation and organization for guests.
• Follow all hotel policies and procedures related to health, safety, and security guidelines.
• Work collaboratively across departments such as housekeeping, front desk, and maintenance to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional guest experiences.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, offering support as needed to uphold service standards.
• Adhere strictly to uniform and grooming standards throughout work hours to maintain a professional image.

Candidate Profile

• Friendly, warm, and engaging personality with a strong commitment to excellent guest care.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Prior experience (minimum 1 year) as a Hotel Porter or in a related role within a 4-star hotel environment is preferred, but not required as comprehensive training is provided.
• Availability to work weekdays and weekends.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to anticipate guest needs and take initiative.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting.
