  • Coordinated the documentation required for approval processes within the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ministry of Finance for all ASCEND-related expenses. • Public Financial Management- Trained and supervised MOH finance personnel at both provincial and district levels on the importance of prudent Public Financial Management (PFM) and the impotence of value for money principals (the three Es (Efficiency, Effectiveness and Economy) and the fiduciary resources management in project implementation. • Scrutinized expenditure returns from District Health Offices before sharing them with the ASCEND finance team and Country Lead. • Served as the primary financial management contact for Ascend Lot 1 in Zambia. • Ensured the implementation of the project adhered to robust controls and complied with the rules and regulations of the Donor (FCDO/DFID) and Crown Agents. • Conducted thorough reviews of budgets and financial submissions, including Spend forms and expenditure reports from partners. • Examined partners' monthly financial reports for accuracy and completeness, conducting random spot checks on related transactions. •Managed the entire lifecycle of sub-grants, from execution to closeout. • •Ensured sub-recipients maintained accurate and up-to-date books of accounts, monitoring their spending patterns, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. • Reviewed and monitored sub-recipients' monthly and quarterly financial reports and advance requests, assessing the completeness, reasonableness, and integrity of their documents. • Conducted monthly/quarterly reconciliations of all expenses to ensure the completeness and integrity of financial information.
