Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for an accomplished Staff Engineer Data Scientist to enhance our organization's expertise in data analytics and artificial intelligence. This role involves developing and managing extensive data pipelines, conducting exploratory and predictive analyses, designing deep learning algorithms, and ensuring model performance is sustained. Communicating intricate technical details clearly to stakeholders and systematically documenting analytical outcomes will also be key.
Key Responsibilities
- Advance the company’s data analytics and AI capabilities.
- Create and upkeep scalable data pipelines for large datasets indexing.
- Perform exploratory data examination and predictive modeling to detect trends and irregularities.
- Test new hypotheses and construct deep learning algorithms while overseeing their continuous model quality.
- Own the design of algorithmic frameworks and simplify complex deep learning concepts for business stakeholders and technical presentations.
- Define and accomplish project goals and milestones efficiently.
- Prepare detailed documentation of analytical findings for technical teams, leadership, or publishing purposes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Three to five years of pertinent experience in similar roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL programming languages.
- Skilled in text processing tasks such as data parsing and manipulation.
- Understanding of recommender system methodologies including collaborative and content-based filtering.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
- Expertise in hyper-parameter tuning, feature engineering, and embedding techniques.
- Knowledgeable in natural language processing, statistical modeling, network analysis, and data mining methods.
- Passion for writing concise, elegant code and maintaining clear documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within data science teams and with business stakeholders.
- Desired but not required: experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Bonus skills include familiarity with deep learning models like RNN, LSTM, and XGBoost.
- Exposure to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes is advantageous.
