Role Overview
The Platform Productivity team at Grafana Labs is central to supporting internal developers by delivering the tools, systems, and Kubernetes clusters essential for building, deploying, and running workloads effectively. This team focuses on automating release processes, from CI/CD pipelines to bootstrapping, ensuring secure, measurable, and streamlined software delivery for internal teams. As part of the Platform department, you'll contribute to enhancing performance, reliability, and scalability of services that move millions of logs, metrics, and traces every second.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, enhance, and expand the Internal Engineering Platform (IEP).
- Develop and manage CI/CD platforms and automate build, release, and deployment workflows.
- Create and improve configuration management tools and software automation systems.
- Manage artifact repositories and support diverse internal teams including development and security to implement requirements effectively.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the health and availability of platform tooling.
- Contribute to defining team roadmaps including the introduction and graceful decommissioning of systems.
Future Projects
- Develop next-generation CI/CD systems.
- Enhance automation runner infrastructure, focusing on security and management.
- Improve artifact management capabilities.
- Integrate security automation within CI/CD workflows.
- Create AI-powered tools to better support internal users.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates enjoy collaborating with both engineering and management teams, thrive in a remote-first, consensus-driven culture, demonstrate eagerness to learn and grow, and approach software development holistically—from design and deployment to maintenance. Flexibility in using various programming languages and tools is valued, with primary language proficiency in Go. Experience operating code in production, especially with Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Tanka, is essential.
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for candidates based in Ireland is EUR 81,600 to EUR 97,920 annually, with final compensation reflecting experience and skill level. Additional benefits include equity through Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), bonuses (if applicable), and a 30-day annual leave policy which incorporates 3 company-wide shutdown days for disconnection.
