Role Summary
This position entails designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Python backend services alongside automation of build and test processes. The focus is on RESTful APIs, backend business logic, and internal engineering tooling to streamline workflows. The role demands hands-on involvement in all aspects of software engineering and ownership of the tools and services developed.
Key Responsibilities
- Create REST APIs and backend applications using Python frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
- Implement business logic and integrate with both internal systems and external third-party APIs.
- Design and optimize data schemas and SQL queries for complex or large datasets.
- Diagnose and resolve software issues spanning application, integration, and data layers.
- Automate recurring manual tasks by building scripts, utilities, and engineering tools.
- Facilitate interactions between distinct engineering systems through API connectivity to enable seamless data flow.
- Develop, own, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar platforms.
- Automate stages of build, testing, validation, and deployment processes.
- Identify root causes of pipeline or build failures and implement durable fixes.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and API test suites to ensure code quality.
- Manage automated regression testing integrated within the deployment pipeline.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, architects, and domain experts in design, reviews, and documentation.
Required Competencies
- Proficient in production-level Python programming with solid object-oriented design skills.
- Experienced in building REST APIs with Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
- Skilled in SQL and relational database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience in Jenkins and ownership of CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledgeable in test automation frameworks such as PyTest or unittest.
- Comfortable with Linux operating systems and Git version control.
- Capable of independently debugging codebases beyond familiarity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in storage systems or infrastructure-level software development.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Docker containers and container orchestration workflows.
- Ability with Perl or shell scripting for legacy system automation.
- Understanding of microservices or service-oriented architecture design.

Applicants should hold degrees in any of the following disciplines: B.Sc in Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Mathematics and Computer Applications, Statistics, Information Technology, IT & Data Analytics; or B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Business System, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; or B.C.A. in any specialization.
