Team and Role Overview
The Singapore-based Lending Engineering team at Airwallex is responsible for developing a cutting-edge lending platform. This platform allows enterprise clients to deliver innovative credit products seamlessly using Airwallex’s technology. The team handles the design, implementation, and scalability of a credit product portfolio for global enterprises and continuously advances the embedded lending platform’s architecture and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and sustain resilient services that power the lending platform, emphasizing credit products.
- Create and manage secure, scalable, and well-documented APIs that enable clients to integrate credit products within their systems.
- Lead technical design reviews, provide architectural guidance, and mentor engineering team members to maintain high standards of code quality.
- Advocate best practices in distributed systems design that ensure the platform’s reliability and high performance at enterprise scale.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver effective lending solutions.
- Emphasize automated testing, thorough code review, and monitoring to uphold platform stability, scalability, and security.
- Keep abreast of industry developments and proactively suggest enhancements to platform architecture, engineering methods, and delivery efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Over 5 years of practical software engineering experience, familiar with modern engineering workflows, continuous integration, and quality assurance.
- At least 2 years in technical leadership roles, including mentoring engineers and steering engineering strategies.
- Strong foundation in computer science concepts and object-oriented programming, with proven backend systems development experience primarily using Java or Kotlin alongside Spring/Spring Boot framework.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, with understanding of modern API design principles.
- Practical knowledge of domain-driven design and event-driven architectures in production.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining scalable, high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
- Cloud platform proficiency, preferably on GCP, or AWS (services such as EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront) combined with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with SaaS products delivered as platforms.
