Senior Software Engineer - Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Azure

About the Role

Join Blue Yonder as a Senior Software Engineer contributing to the development, testing, and upkeep of their cloud-native Supply Chain Data Platform. This role involves close collaboration with senior engineers to build scalable microservices, implement new features, fix defects, and enhance product quality while gaining expertise in distributed systems and cloud technologies.

Technical Environment

• Languages & Software: Java, Spring Boot, Gradle, Git, Hibernate, REST APIs, OAuth, GraphQL, Snowflake, Scala, Spark, Elasticsearch, NoSQL, RDBMS
• Application Architecture: Cloud-native, event-driven, secure multi-tenant microservices designed for scalability, resiliency, and availability
• Cloud Technologies: Microsoft Azure (including AKS, ARM Templates, Azure AD, Event Hub, Application Gateway, Virtual Networks, HDInsight), Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• Frameworks & Tools: Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, Spring Boot, Hibernate, GraphQL, Elasticsearch, Spark, Ignite, Git, Gradle, DevOps, Infrastructure Automation

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, test, and maintain robust software features using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud-native technologies.
• Partner actively with product managers, system architects, QA engineers, and senior developers to deliver scalable and dependable software solutions.
• Engage in Agile workflows including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, code reviews, testing, and retrospectives.
• Investigate, debug, and resolve software issues to enhance performance, reliability, and code quality.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide backend production support and improve platform reliability.
• Continuously update skills, embrace emerging tech, and contribute to elevating team procedures and development practices.

Candidate Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Java development, specifically with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, SQL, Git, and solid object-oriented programming fundamentals.
• Good grasp of cloud-native app development, distributed system architectures, and container ecosystems including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka; familiarity with Snowflake, NoSQL, and traditional RDBMS databases.
• Knowledge of modern software development methodologies such as CI/CD pipelines and DevOps culture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, eagerness to continuously learn new technologies, effective communication skills, and proven capability to collaborate in Agile teams.
