Senior API Process Engineer

About the Role

We are partnering with a top-tier global pharmaceutical company seeking a Senior Process Commercialisation Engineer at their manufacturing facility in Tipperary, Ireland. This role is ideal for a seasoned API process engineer or process development expert passionate about bridging process development, scale-up, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing phases.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and support introductions of new products and seamless technology transfers.
• Develop, optimize, and scale chemical API manufacturing processes.
• Assist with commercial production campaigns and ensure process readiness.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues and oversee deviation inquiries.
• Collaborate with teams on process safety, validation, regulatory compliance, and environmental concerns.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose enhancements in process operations.
• Work in close partnership with global research and development and cross-functional departments.
• Provide expert technical leadership and establish subject matter mastery in API processing.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of five years’ experience in pharmaceutical API manufacturing or process development.
• Deep understanding of chemical API processing and scale-up methodologies.
• Proven experience in commercialisation, new product introduction (NPI), or technology transfer activities.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex manufacturing and technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills across multiple functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
