Job description

Role Overview

Become a vital member of Southern Water's frontline operations team based in Aylesford, ensuring the smooth functioning of wastewater and sludge treatment facilities. This position plays a key role in compliance adherence, environmental safeguarding, and delivering outstanding service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance testing and continuous process monitoring.
  • Carry out maintenance duties including unblocking pumps, screens, and valves.
  • Repair alarm systems and address any faults encountered.
  • Gather, monitor, and report data in alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine sampling and upkeep of sampling apparatus.
  • Manage chemical delivery reception and handling safely.
  • Utilise IT systems to log maintenance activities and maintain safety compliance.

Required Qualifications and Traits

  • Possess a valid UK manual driving licence.
  • Comfortable working outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
  • Exhibit adaptability, reliability, and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills and capability to work independently.
  • Have enthusiasm to learn and operate complex process systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in wastewater operations or related process industries.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical or electrical maintenance.

Work Details

  • Permanent contract.
  • 38 working hours per week.
