Job description
Role Overview
Become a vital member of Southern Water's frontline operations team based in Aylesford, ensuring the smooth functioning of wastewater and sludge treatment facilities. This position plays a key role in compliance adherence, environmental safeguarding, and delivering outstanding service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform compliance testing and continuous process monitoring.
- Carry out maintenance duties including unblocking pumps, screens, and valves.
- Repair alarm systems and address any faults encountered.
- Gather, monitor, and report data in alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine sampling and upkeep of sampling apparatus.
- Manage chemical delivery reception and handling safely.
- Utilise IT systems to log maintenance activities and maintain safety compliance.
Required Qualifications and Traits
- Possess a valid UK manual driving licence.
- Comfortable working outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
- Exhibit adaptability, reliability, and self-motivation.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills and capability to work independently.
- Have enthusiasm to learn and operate complex process systems.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in wastewater operations or related process industries.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical or electrical maintenance.

- Permanent contract.
- 38 working hours per week.

- Annual salary £29,325.
