Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Mid-Level Azure Cloud Engineer to join a technology team based in Dublin City Centre. The position involves working primarily with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and managing Kubernetes environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
- Oversee containerized workloads running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and provide ongoing support.
- Continuously monitor Azure environments to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring optimal reliability and performance.
- Enhance cloud deployment processes through automation and optimization strategies.
- Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, security, and other teams to implement cloud-based solutions.
- Implement robust cloud security measures, governance, and operational best practices tailored to Azure.
- Assist in enhancing cloud architectures, operational procedures, and technical standards.
- Contribute to delivering resilient, highly available cloud services.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Three to five years’ experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering roles, or related fields.
- Strong practical expertise managing Microsoft Azure environments in enterprise settings.
- Proven capability in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Solid understanding of containerization and Kubernetes fundamentals.
- Experience supporting production cloud infrastructure and diagnosing complex issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical problems effectively.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and cloud automation processes.
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and modern DevOps methodologies.
- Understanding of Azure-specific networking, identity management, security, and governance concepts.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, logging tools, and performance optimization.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale or highly regulated IT environments is advantageous.
Educational Background
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related area, or equivalent practical experience.
- Microsoft Azure and/or Kubernetes certifications are beneficial.
