Role overview
This position focuses on day-to-day warehouse and logistics support within an aviation environment. The material handler will manage receiving, inspection, storage, binning, parts issuance, stock counts, scrap part destruction, and outbound shipping. The role also includes tool crib control, tool management support for production, and calibration oversight for Test, Measurement, & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
Key responsibilities
- Handle warehouse activities such as receiving, quality inspection, issuing, picking, and shipping parts accurately, on schedule, and in line with MOE instructions and company policy.
- Organize and prioritize workload so tasks are completed efficiently and correctly. AOG shipments must be receipted within 3 hours, work order parts within 8 hours, and stock orders within 72 hours.
- Check that supplier invoices, freight costs, and warehouse material records are accurate, and support purchasing and finance teams with invoice processing.
- Carry out annual stock takes to help ensure inventory is properly controlled and all processes remain compliant.
- Provide support to the department as needed and assist material handlers at other plants within the Bombardier network.
- Help drive ongoing improvements in Singapore Service Centre Operations.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate should hold a diploma in Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of 3 years of aviation-related warehouse experience is required. Strong working knowledge of MS Office, along with advanced familiarity with computer systems, processes, procedures, and policies, is important.
Skills and certifications
The role calls for strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as planning and organizational ability to manage multiple assignments. Preferred certifications and knowledge include dangerous goods certification, L11 certification, familiarity with IATA and Incoterms, forklift or material handling license, basic human factors knowledge, Part 145 familiarity, OH&S expertise, and a valid first aid certificate.
