Role Overview
As part of the Computer Operations team within UOB's Group Infrastructure & Platform Services, you will ensure continuous, uninterrupted functioning of the bank's critical IT systems. This involves management across various platforms such as Mainframe, AS/400, UNIX, and Windows in a 24/7 Command Center environment that requires vigilance, stress resilience, and sharp attention to detail to uphold high service availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor system platforms, applications, ATM services, and network infrastructure in real-time using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Escalate detected exceptions promptly to relevant support teams according to established protocols ensuring swift resolution.
- Oversee scheduled batch job execution, ensuring they complete within service level agreements and effectively manage batch job failures.
- Identify and escalate incidents rapidly, following through on incident tracking to minimize business disruption.
- Perform initial diagnosis and troubleshooting of system or batch-related issues before escalating to specialized support tiers.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure and application teams to manage incident responses and planned maintenance tasks.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including operational logs, incident reports, and shift handovers to support compliance and audits.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline.
- At least two years of practical experience in IT operations or in a Command Center setting.
- Technical familiarity with one or more platforms: Mainframe, AS/400, UNIX/Linux, or Windows environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Fluent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal abilities, teamwork orientation, and composure under stressful situations.
- Preparedness to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a pattern comprising three days on, two days off, then two days on, followed by another two days off.
