Lead Software Engineer - UI (TypeScript/React/Redux Toolkit)

About the Role

Join JPMorgan Chase as a Lead Software Engineer in the Commercial & Investment Bank's Sales & Research Technology team based in Singapore. You will play a critical part in designing and delivering advanced, market-leading client- and sales-focused web applications for the J.P. Morgan Markets Execute platform by applying your expertise in front-end engineering and modern software practices to build secure, reliable, and scalable UI solutions that drive substantial business impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain client- and sales-facing UI functionalities for the Markets Execute platform and its associated applications.
• Design and advance front-end architecture including component hierarchies, scalable patterns such as component composition and state management with Redux Toolkit, and uphold TypeScript best practices for maintainable, modular, and easy-to-test codebases.
• Engage closely with Product Owners, UX designers, and QA teams to analyze requirements, participate in planning, estimation, and architecture sessions.
• Create user interface features using modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React frameworks, adhering to engineering standards and utilizing the team’s existing component libraries.
• Influence application design and engineering approaches through reviews, technical discussions, and contributions to shared libraries and frameworks.
• Mentor junior team members and promote enhanced delivery quality, predictability, and best engineering practices.
• Continuously expand knowledge of financial markets via collaboration, training, and workshops.
• Optimize web application performance and responsiveness while ensuring secure, stable, and production-ready operational standards focused on reliability and resiliency.
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering techniques to enhance code quality and delivery outcomes, including AI-assisted refactoring, testing acceleration, and troubleshooting, accompanied by strict validation standards.
• Utilize tools from the software development lifecycle toolchain, incorporating AI-driven development and automation to maximize automation benefits.
• Apply reactive programming paradigms and ensure operational stability across environments through solid automated testing and CI/CD processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Over 5 years of practical front-end experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, Redux Toolkit, RxJS, and contemporary UI frameworks supported by formal training or certification in software engineering.
• Hands-on expertise in system design, application development, testing, reactive programming, and maintaining operational stability.
• Comprehensive understanding of ethical AI use in engineering workflows addressing data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, and compliance with reliability and security standards, including mentoring engineers on safe adoption.
• Experience leading the effective implementation of AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, testing, and troubleshooting while setting team validation protocols.
• Proven capability to independently resolve design and functional challenges with minimal supervision.
• Solid background building high-performance desktop and web applications while prioritizing speed and user experience.
• Strong adherence to test-driven development utilizing modern source control and continuous integration practices.
• Experience operating within fast-paced Agile environments particularly in financial services.
• Competence in using AI-enabled development tools to streamline development workflows and enhance code quality and developer efficiency.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in UI automation testing tools, including end-to-end and integration testing, with capability to manage tests in CI/CD environments.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Java, Kubernetes, and Spring framework is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Investment Banking, FinTech, or financial markets is a plus.
