About Cantabria Lifecare & Village

Located in Rotorua, Cantabria Lifecare & Village includes a 176-bed Care Home and Hospital plus a 35-unit Village. Our diverse team shares a devotion to compassionate care and empathy for all residents.

Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Activities Assistant on a permanent part-time basis (19.5 hours per week) covering AM and weekend shifts. This role focuses on positively enhancing the lives of our aged care residents through tailored activity programmes that nurture physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive, and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, and implement engaging activities, outings, events, and community involvement to meet residents' individual needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a compassionate, safe, and supportive living environment.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families to support personalised care.
  • Contribute adaptively to team efforts and support fellow staff members.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in caregiving, preferably within aged care settings.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal abilities, and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Full New Zealand driver’s license with confidence in operating a van.
  • Genuine passion for assisting others combined with excellent customer service skills and a positive demeanor.
  • Dedication to continual professional development and commitment to health and safety standards.
