Position Purpose
The Vessel Operations Engineer role reports to the Project Operations Manager and contributes to multiple projects within the Operations Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and technical assistance during tender and project execution phases, maintaining adherence to safety, quality, and engineering standards.
- Support engineering efforts by reviewing documentation, recommending improvements, and aiding in project planning and execution.
- Assist both offshore and onshore teams with various operations including installation, diving, pre-commissioning, trenching, and hook-up activities.
- Coordinate equipment, materials logistics, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
- Guarantee compliance with QA/QC and HSE standards by participating actively in risk assessments and safety briefings.
- Oversee critical activities during vessel mobilization/demobilization, loadouts, and essential offshore operations.
- Contribute feedback to improve procedures, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness continuously.
- Provide technical support to the commercial team for proposals and contractual discussions.
- Ensure smooth progress through mobilization, testing, and installation stages.
- Lead and manage a team comprising junior method/operations engineers and draftsmen.
- Ensure all installation documentation is prepared within specified timelines.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred; degrees in other engineering disciplines will also be considered.
- Between 5 to 7 years of experience in Offshore Oil & Gas or EPC environments.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Strong expertise in offshore oil and gas platform installations including jackets, topsides, bridges, and heavy lifting operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with Microsoft Project.
