Team Overview
The Ecosystem team at Airwallex comprises engineers and product collaborators focused on building integration platforms connecting Airwallex to external software used by our customers. Our group manages strategic accounting, marketplace, payment plug-ins, open-banking integrations, and public API infrastructure to empower third-party developers. Collaboration with backend, product design, and go-to-market teams is vital to delivering secure, seamless financial solutions across various business use cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and strategic technical roadmap for Airwallex's App Marketplace or Extension Framework.
- Create and maintain the foundational SDKs, webhooks, and front-end extension mechanisms that enable third-party developers to seamlessly integrate functionality into the Airwallex platform.
- Set and uphold stringent coding standards, observability practices, and security protocols throughout the team.
- Enhance developer experience by building comprehensive documentation, sandbox environments, and developer tooling.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and have at least 7 years of experience in developing internet-scale applications, financial systems, or e-commerce platforms. Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, C++, or Python is required, along with a deep understanding of idiomatic practices and standard libraries. Candidates with direct experience managing public developer platforms, app marketplaces, or extension frameworks will be highly valued.
Preferred qualifications include expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) for handling complex domain logic and microservices, hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructures including Docker, Kubernetes, and observability tooling, and familiarity with integrating AI or large language models to automate workflows or improve developer tools.
