Team Overview
The Growth team at Airwallex drives user acquisition and strategic market expansion through data-driven decisions and technological innovation. They focus on optimizing user funnels, onboarding processes, and scalable architecture to support high traffic and global marketing integration, crucial for the company’s global expansion ambitions.
Role Summary
- Design and develop scalable microservices using Java/Kotlin to support high-availability systems.
- Implement service communication, orchestration, and fault-tolerance best practices.
- Work alongside data scientists and product managers to create analytics platforms, data pipelines, and event-driven architectures ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Frontend, Product, Design, and Marketing translating business needs into backend solutions.
- Engage in code reviews, architectural discussions, and strategy planning to enhance backend performance and quality.
- Build services that facilitate rapid A/B testing, feature toggles, and real-time monitoring to improve engagement and conversions.
- Integrate secure coding practices to protect user data and maintain compliance with global regulations by identifying vulnerabilities and enforcing authentication and authorization protocols.
Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in Java/Kotlin and modern engineering best practices.
- Robust knowledge of object-oriented programming, domain-driven design, and event-driven system architectures.
- Practical expertise in building and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems in cloud environments (preferably GCP or AWS with Docker and Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach and empathy toward end users to create impactful and intuitive products.
- Collaborative mindset focused on knowledge sharing, mentorship, and fostering a positive team culture.
- Adaptable, proactive, and efficient with a strong ownership mentality and excellent task prioritization skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Spring framework including Spring Boot.
- Background in go-to-market operational solutions and customer segmentation analytics.
- Exposure to building AI and large language model powered internal or customer-facing products.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
