Job Summary

Working within k-ID's innovation-focused Labs team, the Senior Full Stack Engineer is responsible for transforming validated concepts into scalable, production-ready solutions that customers actively use. This role involves hands-on development and close collaboration with end-users to ensure optimal product performance and continual improvement. The candidate will engage extensively in writing precise technical specifications, coordinating with coding agents to implement features, performing thorough code reviews, and refining development tools and processes. This senior position demands autonomous execution, decisive architectural choices, and stewardship of quality and operational standards as the product matures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain full stack applications underpinning new k-ID products, managing their lifecycle from initial deployment through scaling phases.
• Create detailed technical specifications for coding agents and rigorously assess their output to ensure excellence.
• Continuously enhance development environments and workflows to improve build quality and efficiency.
• Contribute to technical design decisions spanning frontend, backend, APIs, and data flow patterns.
• Ensure systems are robust and efficient under load prior to broader release.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and legal teams to distill complex requirements into user-friendly product experiences.
• Implement responsive and maintainable web applications using Next.js and related technologies.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues promptly, delivering reliable fixes with care.
• Produce clean, tested code while upholding high standards for performance, quality, and developer experience.
• Participate actively in code reviews, technical discussions, and collective problem-solving.
• Promote a positive engineering culture emphasizing ownership, teamwork, and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least six years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in startup or fast-growth settings.
• Proven expertise utilizing coding agents in production, including specifying tasks and evaluating their output.
• Strong proficiency with Go, TypeScript, React, and Next.js frameworks.
• Experience developing full stack applications with PostgreSQL, Redis, S3, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Familiarity with server-rendered web apps and modern frontend architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee systems from design through deployment and ongoing operation.
• Experience collaborating with designers to craft intuitive, polished user interfaces.
• Comfort navigating product requirements, technical design, implementation, testing, and production support phases.
• Capacity to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with changing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Willingness to maintain some daily overlap with global teams, typically starting 14:00 UTC.
• Knowledge of compliance or regulated product domains is advantageous but not mandatory.
