Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Squad Lead to oversee our recon distributed squad. This squad is charged with the modernization of platforms, maintaining technical excellence, and advancing next-generation reconciliation capabilities. The role demands strong leadership in delivery excellence, platform stability, technical innovation, AI/ML adoption, and diligent reduction of technical debt. The successful candidate will enhance squad planning discipline, execution reliability, and operational effectiveness while managing initiatives from requirement gathering through production deployment and closely collaborating with multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of delivering squad initiatives within sprints and quarterly plans.
• Facilitate structured sprint planning, monitor progress, and ensure consistent delivery against set objectives.
• Lead crucial projects including machine learning improvements, end-of-life system remediations, platform upgrades (e.g., Python, libraries, infrastructure management), and scalable performance enhancements.
• Manage incident responses and conduct comprehensive root cause analyses.
• Promote the integration of AI/ML automation features within the platform.
• Serve as the essential liaison across business, operations, and technology stakeholders.
• Regularly provide transparent updates regarding delivery milestones, risks, and dependencies.
• Mentor and guide an interdisciplinary squad comprising developers, quality assurance, and operations specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous development, and cross-team cooperation.
• Encourage skill advancement in up-to-date technologies such as AI/ML and platform engineering.

Required Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with Python and/or Java ecosystems.
• Demonstrated leadership in Agile methodologies and managing squads.
• Experience with platform upgrade initiatives, technical debt management, and end-of-life system remediation.
• Strong background in production support and incident management practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Essential Skills

• Advanced expertise in Python development including debugging and writing optimized code.
• Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques, classification models, and KMeans clustering.
• Competence in model evaluation and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, and data visualization with Matplotlib.
• Experience with workflow automation tools such as Autosys, source control via Git/GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Proficient with Unix/Linux commands and SQL databases.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Snowflake data platform, Java or Perl programming, and Azure Cloud services.
• Understanding and utilization of generative AI tools like Copilot.
• Experience applying AI/ML towards automation initiatives.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools.
• Past involvement in financial services, capital markets, or operations technology domains.
• Knowledge of large-scale data processing and techniques to optimize system performance.
