Role Details

We are seeking a Natural Language Processing (NLP) Researcher to join an experienced and expanding team. You will collaborate with NLP specialists and quantitative analysts to analyze extensive text datasets using cutting-edge NLP methods and advanced Large Language Models (LLMs). The objective is to identify features from live text sources that can be leveraged to forecast future financial market behavior.

Candidate Profile

  • Expertise in Natural Language Processing or a closely related machine learning field, demonstrated through academic and/or industry achievements.
  • Knowledge of recent breakthroughs in NLP and generative AI, particularly in adapting LLMs for domain-specific applications, employing techniques such as Domain Adaptive PreTraining, Instruction Fine Tuning, quantization, and Low Rank Adaptation.
  • Experience implementing machine learning and deep learning solutions for various NLP tasks, including Text Embeddings, Sentiment Analysis, Named Entity Recognition, Knowledge Graphs, Multilingual Text Processing, and Topic Extraction.
  • A robust record of research accomplishments and deep familiarity with machine learning concepts, algorithms, and statistical techniques.
  • Proficient problem-solving capabilities, with a capacity for independent and collaborative work.
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python alongside experience with ML libraries such as PyTorch or vLLM.
  • Possession of or progress toward a Masters or PhD in NLP or quantitative disciplines like machine learning, computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or engineering.
  • Publications in premier NLP conferences (e.g., ACL, EMNLP) and machine learning conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML) are highly valued.
  • A genuine interest in applying NLP methodologies to financial data and translating theoretical models into operational software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are advantageous.
  • Though no prior financial industry experience is necessary, enthusiasm for finance and motivation to learn quickly are essential.
