Job description

Overview

The Maintenance Controller will be part of the Maintenance Operations department in the SIA Engineering Division, directly reporting to the Manager of Maintenance Operations. This role involves providing continuous 24-hour technical support, advising Technical Handling Agents servicing Singapore Airlines and its subsidiary carriers at various line stations.

Key Duties

  • Continuously track and assess the technical condition of aircraft during flights, identifying any defects or technical challenges encountered.
  • Offer expert technical guidance and recommendations to flight crews while airborne, as well as provide technical support and clear instructions to Technical Handling Agents stationed overseas for defect rectification at the earliest ground opportunity.
  • Coordinate with all Technical Handling Agents for managing flights, delays, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) scenarios.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Departments, Singapore Airlines Operations Control Centre, and various SIA divisions to handle flights, delays, and AOG events effectively.
  • Manage sourcing and monitoring of AOG/station spare parts usage and spare loans.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for engineering-related operational matters within Singapore Airlines daily activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve defects encountered at line stations.
  • Ensure currency and accuracy of all technical documents, both paper and digital versions, used in operations.
  • Oversee planned maintenance and unplanned correction work on aircraft that are night-stopped or staying over.
  • Produce detailed reports concerning technical delays and aircraft ground incidents.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

  • Must be a Licensed Aircraft Engineer with preferably 10 years of line work experience.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to interact across diverse user departments.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities, with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts covering 24/7 operations.
  • Proficiency with IT tools and systems.
