Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Procurement Engineer to oversee the acquisition of civil and architectural materials, equipment, and subcontract packages for extensive construction projects. This role demands ensuring punctual procurement, cost efficiency, adherence to project specifications, and seamless collaboration with engineering, commercial, and project teams to facilitate successful project execution.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage procurement processes for civil and architectural materials, equipment, and subcontract works.
- Develop Requests for Quotation (RFQs), assess both technical and commercial proposals, and conduct negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to guarantee procurement aligns with technical specifications and project timelines.
- Identify, prequalify, and maintain vendor relationships to ensure quality and reliability.
- Oversee procurement schedules to secure timely deliveries and address potential supply chain risks.
- Examine purchase orders, contracts, and all procurement documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and contractual terms.
- Maintain adherence to company procurement policies, project-specific mandates, and contractual commitments.
- Monitor procurement progress, address supply challenges swiftly, and provide consistent status updates.
- Recognize opportunities for cost reduction and contribute to value engineering efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- Between 10 to 15 years of procurement experience in large-scale or mega construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of civil and architectural materials, subcontracting procedures, procurement management, and contract administration.
- Strong capabilities in negotiation, vendor management, and data analysis.
- Competence in using SAP systems (ERP/Oracle) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
