Java Microservices Developer

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Java Microservices Developer for a permanent role based in Singapore. The focus of this position is on building and maintaining robust backend systems, emphasizing Core Java knowledge, microservices architectural patterns, and practical REST API design. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong coding capabilities, excellent problem-solving aptitude, and experience within cloud-native environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop backend solutions utilizing Java versions 8, 11, and 17, along with Spring Boot and microservices frameworks.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs designed for scalable enterprise systems.
• Implement message-driven integrations using Kafka or analogous streaming platforms for real-time data processing.
• Manage data persistence and optimize queries within relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Engage collaboratively with diverse teams comprising business analysts, quality assurance professionals, and DevOps specialists.
• Take part in live coding sessions and analytical problem-solving exercises during the interview process, exhibiting strong algorithmic skills.
• Maintain high code quality standards via unit testing, effective debugging, and adherence to coding best practices.
• Support continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows including automation and pipeline management.
• Participate in cloud and containerization projects involving AWS, Azure, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker technology stacks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in Java programming (versions 8/11/17) with a solid grasp of Core Java foundations.
• Experienced with Spring Boot framework and microservices design principles.
• Skilled in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Practical knowledge of Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Competent in handling SQL-based relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts including immutability, collections, and method overriding/overloading.
• Demonstrated ability to write code that solves complex algorithmic problems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and container orchestration frameworks like OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with container technologies, notably Docker.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools and methodologies such as Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
• Background in banking or financial services domain is advantageous.
