Job description
Mission
Reporting to the Pastoral Care Manager, the primary role of the educational assistant is to oversee elementary school students from their arrival until departure, managing all daily extracurricular activities outside of class.
Responsibilities
- Welcome, assist, and supervise elementary school children throughout arrival, recess, meal times, class transitions, and other daily school activities.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, community rules, and internal regulations at all times.
- Observe and listen attentively to children's behavioral changes; promptly report unresolved issues or conflicts to the appropriate personnel.
- Report any observed issues such as damaged equipment or facilities to relevant departments.
- Address and manage student difficulties during supervision periods; document incidents and communicate them to the Pastoral Care Manager and educational team.
- Attend to minor injuries and provide necessary first aid.
- Monitor student attendance and headcounts during school hours.
- Manage lost and found items including collecting, verifying, sorting, and organizing lunch boxes and personal belongings.
- Carry out additional school life-related duties including book covering and laminating documents.
- Develop, propose, and implement educational activities including group games and sports.
- Supervise groups of children during mid-day breaks and daycare sessions in the morning and afternoon.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in childcare or animation sectors.

Work Relationships
- Interact regularly with students, teachers, librarians, assistants, AESH (specialized educational support personnel), parents, management, and external canteen and transport staff.
Reporting
This position reports directly to the Responsible for School Life.
Working Conditions
- Position available on part-time or full-time basis (38 hours per week).
- Compensation is commensurate with experience and follows the International French School's salary scale.
- Employees are entitled to 14 weeks of paid leave annually, corresponding to school holidays minus two weeks reserved for administrative matters.
