Role Overview
The Customs Value Added Services Associate position at the Bremerhaven location involves supporting customs documentation processes for a key strategic client, ensuring compliance with both local and international standards. This role offers valuable hands-on exposure within logistics and customs functions in an international setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process all required documents for import, export, and cargo transshipment activities.
- Ensure precise and prompt data entry in relevant systems, adhering to regulatory frameworks including the Union Customs Code and Veterinary Authority mandates.
- Maintain effective communication channels with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to facilitate seamless operations.
- Arrange transportation logistics, oversee container inspections, and manage related tasks as necessary.
- Track and upkeep permits, licenses, and authorizations essential for operations.
- Support the resolution of operational challenges and coordinate with stakeholders like warehouses, freight carriers, surveyors, and regulatory bodies.
- Engage in team meetings, participate in training programs, and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Strong enthusiasm and eagerness to acquire knowledge about logistics and customs regulations.
- Experience with logistics or customs clearance systems such as ATLAS is beneficial.
- Excellent organizational capabilities to manage workloads efficiently.
- A proactive approach as a team player with attention to detail and dedication to process accuracy.
- Proficiency in both German and English languages is required.
- Competence with MS Office and adaptable to learning new software tools swiftly.
- Customer-oriented mindset coupled with solid problem-solving and negotiation skills.
