Job Summary

This architect role involves engaging with clients and professionals early on to define project briefs, creating designs via CAD and traditional methods, navigating regulatory applications, and ensuring practical design considerations are addressed promptly. The role includes overseeing detailed design coordination, working with authorities to secure approvals, managing consultant collaboration, advising clients on contract procurement, and leading tender documentation and construction drawings preparation. The architect will also assist in contract administration, gather client feedback, conduct site inspections to monitor progress against schedules, resolve onsite issues, perform defect assessments, and supervise junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients and stakeholders to establish and develop project briefs.
• Create design proposals using computer-aided design tools and manual drafting.
• Contribute to planning and regulatory application processes.
• Analyze how design decisions impact construction performance and functionality early on.
• Coordinate detailed design stages and manage design data.
• Work with relevant authorities to obtain required statutory permissions.
• Collaborate with consultants involved in the project.
• Guide clients on optimal contract selection for their projects.
• Lead preparation of tender documents and building drawings.
• Support contract administration and certify project stages.
• Collect client feedback on work progress and final outcomes.
• Conduct site visits to verify progress aligns with timelines.
• Troubleshoot issues arising during construction phases.
• Carry out inspections for defects post-construction.
• Oversee and manage junior staff and direct reports.

Requirements

• At least five years of architectural experience within Singapore or Malaysia.
• Ability to effectively collaborate in team settings and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
• Knowledge of Singapore or Malaysia building codes and regulations.
• A demonstrated strong design portfolio.
• Exhibit a proactive, responsible work ethic and positive attitude.
