Role Overview

We are seeking a Vulnerability Researcher to join our client's team remotely on a full-time basis. The primary focus is to conduct in-depth technical investigation to uncover security vulnerabilities across various software systems and applications. The position involves reverse engineering, code scrutiny, and threat modeling to evaluate potential security risks.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct both static and dynamic software analysis to identify vulnerabilities within codebases and infrastructures.
Create proof-of-concept exploits to confirm discovered security flaws and determine their severity.
Work alongside engineering teams to prioritize and manage remediation of security issues.
Investigate new threats, attack methods, and zero-day vulnerabilities impacting relevant technologies.
Document detailed findings including technical explanations, risk analyses, and suggested mitigation measures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong skills in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Go oriented towards vulnerability discovery and exploit development.
Experience utilizing reverse engineering tools like IDA Pro, Ghidra, or Binary Ninja.
Understanding of common vulnerability classes including buffer overflows, race conditions, and injection flaws.
Knowledge of network protocols, OS internals, and memory corruption attack techniques.
Proficiency in using fuzzing frameworks such as AFL, LibFuzzer, or Honggfuzz.
Familiarity with secure coding principles and software development security lifecycle processes.
Capability to generate comprehensive and intelligible technical reports for diverse stakeholders.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is between $240,000 and $400,000.
