Role Overview
This full-time Senior Electrical Engineer position is based in Dublin and offers a hybrid working model, blending on-site presence with flexible remote work. The engineer will take the lead on electrical design initiatives, crafting comprehensive plans and detailed technical documents while managing designs related to power distribution and electrical systems for building and infrastructure undertakings. Daily tasks include performing engineering calculations, scrutinizing specifications, coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to relevant codes and standards.
Additional responsibilities involve mentoring junior engineering staff, assisting in project management duties such as budget monitoring and scheduling, and actively participating in client discussions and presentations. This role requires collaboration with clients, internal team members, and external partners to troubleshoot technical challenges and enhance project results.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Deep knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles applied to complex project scenarios.
- Proficiency in electrical design activities including developing layouts, selecting suitable equipment, and preparing drawings and technical documentation.
- Practical experience in power distribution systems covering low-medium voltage networks, protection relays, and load assessments.
- Advanced understanding of power systems encompassing modeling, fault detection and analysis, as well as safety and reliability standards.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Professional registration or eligibility for such (e.g., Chartered Engineer) is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with modern engineering design and simulation platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, or equivalents.
- Proven ability in project leadership, team mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication aptitudes, with a sharp focus on precision, quality, and safety.
- Background in building services, industrial, or infrastructure projects, ideally within international or consulting settings.
