Job description
Role Overview
The Production Lead supports the daily store operations and supervises production performance to meet or surpass budgetary goals while adhering to company policies and standards. During designated shifts, this role may assume supervisory responsibilities delegated by the Store or Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve production targets of at least 110 garments per hour maintaining a quality standard of 90% or higher.
- Oversee the processing of donations ensuring items are prepared appropriately for store display.
- Serve as a positive example for employees and trainees by demonstrating professional conduct.
- Manage backroom production activities to maintain product readiness and contribute to a neatly maintained store environment.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety within the back-room and store areas including routine vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and bathroom maintenance.
- Enforce personnel and safety protocols to guarantee compliance among Production Associates.
- Perform Production Associate duties as needed.
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule and shift requirements as set by management.
Skills and Abilities
- Assist management in meeting and exceeding production goals monthly and annually with contingency planning support.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse range of individuals.
- Represent Goodwill positively and articulate its mission to the public.
- Foster a cooperative and motivated work environment for store and production staff.
- Adapt to flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and occasionally extended hours.
- Handle repetitive manual tasks such as buttoning, sorting, hanging, and zipping garments.
- Maintain physical stamina for prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Operate efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume work setting.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with at least six months of supervisory experience or a minimum of 90 days in service industry employment.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and clear communication in English.
- Service industry experience is preferred.
- Successful completion of Retail training is required.
Working Environment
This role involves frequent physical activity and movement within indoor environments maintained at set temperatures, with occasional exposure to outdoor weather. The work schedule may vary and include assignments at donation centers without prior notice.
