Overview
Join a dynamic payroll systems team in a complex and sizable organisation as a Payroll Systems Officer. This full-time, permanent role offers a salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation, situated in Melbourne's inner eastern suburbs with excellent public transport links and a hybrid work model providing three days working from home.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain, configure, and enhance payroll and workforce rostering systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee system functionality, promptly troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and payroll standards.
- Support payroll operations through meticulous system configuration and accurate data handling.
- Collaborate with Payroll, HR, and Workforce Systems teams to refine processes and optimize system efficiency.
- Participate in system upgrades, testing, and transformation projects to drive technological advancements.
- Analyze and resolve complex payroll system queries and escalations.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives across payroll systems and operational workflows.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated track record of supporting payroll systems in medium to large organisations.
- Hands-on expertise in configuring and maintaining time and attendance systems.
- Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex industrial instruments, including Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Experience with system upgrades, implementations, or transformation projects is highly valued.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systemic approach.
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and prioritize competing demands.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders at various organizational levels.
