Main Purpose
The core objective of this position is to validate and input payroll data submitted by HR departments either at hospital locations or service centres. The role involves processing payroll, providing correction guidance, and supporting these departments in line with Mediclinic's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee administration of the payroll process.
- Offer payroll support services to Mediclinic Southern Africa, ER24, and Namibia.
- Deliver systems support and expert advice.
- Calculate applicable tax and UIF contributions and respond to related inquiries.
- Conduct rigorous payroll validation and auditing activities.
Required Education
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Human Resources, or Payroll.
Preferred Education
- Diploma or degree (3-year) in Finance, Payroll, or Human Resources.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three years payroll experience within a corporate setting.
- Preferred five years in a corporate payroll environment.
- Experience working with SAP systems is desirable.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel, including spreadsheet and database use.
- Familiarity with South African Revenue Service (SARS) tax codes for payroll calculation.
- Experience with computerized payroll software.
- Understanding of fundamental HR and remuneration concepts.
- Awareness of legislative amendments impacting payroll such as POPIA.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll terminology and workflow.
