Role Overview
The Manager - Maintenance and Operations Support ensures optimal functionality of all destination facilities and infrastructure by spearheading the planning, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies. This key position manages MEP systems, attraction equipment, utilities, and seawater filtration facilities, emphasizing safety compliance, regulatory adherence, and system reliability. The role aims to reduce system downtimes, extend asset lifespans, and facilitate seamless collaboration among engineering teams, operations, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and enforce maintenance schedules covering all facility components to prevent system failures.
- Oversee the management of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, themed ride equipment, and seawater filtration infrastructure.
- Monitor asset conditions and manage maintenance records using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Lead and supervise internal technical staff along with outsourced maintenance service providers.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with operations and engineering teams to minimize operational interruptions.
- Ensure all maintenance complies with safety standards, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines, and local regulations.
- React promptly to facility breakdowns and implement effective corrective measures.
- Maintain essential inventories of spare parts and maintenance tools for uninterrupted operations.
- Evaluate vendor performances and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to guarantee quality service delivery.
- Generate maintenance Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports for senior leadership and recommend improvements for asset life cycle management.
- Conduct technical audits, inspections, and condition assessments of infrastructure and attractions to inform maintenance strategies.
- Collaborate in capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning by suggesting equipment upgrades or replacements based on asset performance and remaining service life.
- Ensure the precise calibration, testing, and upkeep of safety and control systems across the facility.
Managerial Duties
- Contribute inputs towards the department’s strategic goals from the perspective of the unit, aligning with the overall destination vision and mission.
- Set and implement objectives, KPIs, and annual operational plans for the section or unit, ensuring the achievement of performance targets.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets for the unit or section.
- Enforce compliance with established policies and procedures; monitor and communicate performance indicators.
- Oversee recruitment, development, and optimal deployment of team members in collaboration with senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering is required.
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience is needed, including at least three years in a managerial position.
- Experience within theme parks, aquatic centers, or substantial leisure settings is essential.
- Proficiency in using CMMS software is mandatory; familiarity with aquatic system operations and seawater treatment equipment is highly advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Advanced capabilities in preventive and reactive maintenance.
- Expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing system maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of ride and facility systems engineering.
- Intermediate skills in CMMS management, contractor coordination, and spare parts planning.
- Advanced troubleshooting and breakdown response expertise.
