Job Overview
WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer with extensive experience to lead the design and execution of significant airport and aviation infrastructure efforts within Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of proven expertise in delivering large-scale airport terminals and related facilities.
Responsibilities
- Direct the structural design and oversee the implementation of major aviation projects from start to finish.
- Provide technical leadership on the structural aspects of airport terminals, concourses, landside and airside infrastructure.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities and collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Review and approve structural calculations, design documentation, specifications, and reports.
- Ensure all work complies with project parameters, international standards, building codes, and quality control processes.
- Assist with project scheduling, allocation of resources, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior and intermediate structural engineering staff.
- Engage in design evaluations, cost-effective engineering workshops, and technical discussions.
- Collaborate closely with project directors and discipline leads to guarantee successful completion.
- Contribute to proposal development, bidding processes, and client-facing presentations as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree considered an asset.
- At least 15 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on airport and aviation projects.
- Documented success in leading the design and delivery of airport terminals and associated aviation infrastructure.
- Proven capability to head structural engineering teams in complex, multi-disciplinary environments.
- Deep understanding of global structural design codes and industry standards.
- Experience within top-tier engineering consulting firms.
- Professional certification such as Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience on projects within the Middle East region is advantageous.
