Job description
Role Overview
We seek a Backend-Focused Full Stack Engineer responsible for architecting and implementing the central backend components of a cloud-based digital platform. The focus areas include API development, database management, implementing business logic and workflows, audit logging, data reporting, and ensuring the system is ready for integration.
This position requires close collaboration with the Technical Lead, Frontend Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, and Infrastructure Team to ensure backend services are secure, stable, and support the platform's overall functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Design and deploy backend systems suited for AWS cloud environments, adhering to prescribed deployment practices.
- Architect workflow-centric systems such as booking, approval processes, case management, event tracking, and CRM functionalities.
- Support continuous integration and deployment by contributing to build automation, deployment configurations, database migration scripting, and resolving pipeline issues.
- Address and fix security vulnerabilities identified through static and dynamic application testing, dependency scans, secret detection, and penetration testing.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Between 3 to 4 years of professional experience in software development.
- Proficient in backend technologies including Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, or NestJS frameworks.
- Expertise in relational database design and optimization, especially with PostgreSQL and SQL involving transactions and query tuning.
- Skilled in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Knowledgeable in authentication and authorization techniques such as OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, session management, role-based access control, and securing APIs.
- Familiar with AWS-managed services like Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/Aurora for PostgreSQL, S3, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
- Experience with development operations tools including Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, configuration of environment variables, and troubleshooting deployments.
- Understanding of secure coding standards, OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, input validation methods, dependency management, and vulnerability fixes.
- Competent in testing approaches including unit tests, API testing, and end-to-end integration testing.
