Job description

About the Role

Join a prominent Irish modular construction firm focused on commercial and residential projects as a Design Coordinator in County Meath. This full-time, permanent position involves overseeing the flow of design and technical data throughout multiple projects from pre-construction to completion. The office location offers convenient access for commuters from North Dublin, Meath, and Louth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Compile all necessary pre-contract documents required at the Letter of Intent (LOI) stage.
  • Gather and distribute technical submittals including construction specifications, testing documentation, and material information at the beginning of design phases.
  • Manage coordination of fire safety certification, civil engineering designs, and related contributions from external design teams.
  • Liaise effectively with consultants to ensure seamless information flow.
  • Oversee document exchange among designers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
  • Create and monitor work schedules for consultants, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
  • Track consultant progress through weekly meetings and timely follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with in-house draughtspersons on ongoing projects.
  • Ensure distribution of design information to subcontractors and site personnel.
  • Collect technical submittals returned by subcontractors.
  • Serve as the regular point of contact for external architects, engineers, and specialist consultants.
  • Prepare BCAR closing documentation, organizing files and certificates, obtaining certifications from subcontractors and consultants, and submitting to the assigned certifier.
  • Assemble project safety files, similarly managing collection and submission processes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Hold a relevant qualification such as Construction Management, Building Surveying, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or similar.
  • Proven experience coordinating external consultants by proactively following up and managing inputs from architects, engineers, or specialized consultants, rather than direct creation of design outputs.
  • Demonstrated ability with structured document-control systems.
  • Strong preference for familiarity with the BCAR process and roles of assigned certifiers.
  • Experience in compiling project safety files is highly desirable.
  • Possession of a full clean driving license.

Compensation

The role offers a salary range from €50,000 to €55,000 annually.
