Job description

Role Overview

Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver in Midleton, County Cork, where you will be the friendly face delivering groceries directly to customers' homes. This role involves varied daily tasks and requires a hands-on and physical approach. You will independently manage deliveries while having the support of a dedicated team back at the base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional home shopping experiences by prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with loading the delivery vehicle and ensure its roadworthiness before departure.
  • Adhere to the preplanned delivery schedule and routes.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the uniform and greet customers warmly by name.
  • Drive safely and responsibly, obeying all traffic laws and showing courtesy to other road users.
  • Handle deliveries with care as if they were your own possessions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Hold a full Irish or EU driving license (manual or automatic) for at least two years with no more than three penalty points.
  • Exhibit safe, courteous driving habits.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, be personable, and have a good sense of humor.
  • Demonstrate initiative, common sense, and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Be passionate about making a positive difference for customers and colleagues.
  • Applicants must pass Garda Vetting and provide proof of current penalty points. Disqualification from driving in the past 10 years disqualifies applicants.
  • Successful candidates must provide bank account details prior to their start date.

Working Hours and Shift Pattern

Various shifts are available with contracts ranging between 20 and 39 hours per week. The advertised role is for approximately 30 to 35 hours weekly.
