Role Summary

Within the Data Centres Market Sector, this leadership role serves as a vital ambassador for the data centre industry both in Singapore and across AECOM's global network. The Associate Director will spearhead mechanical engineering design efforts for data center projects targeting major technology clients, contributing to sector growth, strategy, and thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end mechanical design execution for data centre projects, acting as a recognized expert ensuring client requirements and industry standards are met.
• Drive project excellence by defining clear objectives, managing timelines and resources, and upholding stringent quality controls across mechanical engineering activities.
• Develop and sustain strong client relationships through thorough understanding of their business needs and market dynamics.
• Champion business development including bid preparation, proposal development, and thought leadership initiatives to foster sector expansion.
• Ensure seamless coordination and delivery of mechanical services across multidisciplinary project teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Substantial experience managing mechanical engineering projects within Data Centres and other high-demand mission-critical environments, with a demonstrated track record of technical excellence and client engagement.
• Proven success in business development combined with solid commercial insight, including oversight of project teams, budgets, schedules, and quality assurance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical design principles tailored to Data Centres, encompassing power distribution, resilience, redundancy, and compliance with client technical criteria.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of effective interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Possession of or eligibility for professional accreditations such as Mechanical Engineering degree, Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD), and professional registrations (e.g., CPEng, NER) with preference for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status through CIBSE or an equivalent institution.
