About Heritage Lifecare and Role Location
Puriri Court Lifecare is a reputable 72-bed Care Home and Hospital situated in Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand. Our team represents diverse backgrounds and cultures but shares a unified commitment to compassionate care within our heritage community.
Role Overview
We offer a full-time permanent position (32+ hours weekly) as an Activities Coordinator at Puriri Court. The role involves working AM, PM, and weekend shifts and centers on planning and delivering comprehensive activity programs that cater to the physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive, and emotional wellbeing of residents.
Responsibilities
- Develop, organize, and implement engaging activities, outings, and events tailored to individual resident needs.
- Facilitate community group involvement to enhance resident engagement.
- Work collaboratively within the team to provide a safe, supportive, and caring environment.
- Build meaningful and lasting relationships with residents and their families (whānau).
- Support and adapt alongside team members to cultivate a strong, positive team atmosphere.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in care roles, ideally within aged care settings.
- Minimum qualification of NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or an equivalent qualification such as Bachelor or Diploma in Nursing.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Full New Zealand driver's license with confidence in driving a van.
- Sincere passion for helping others, strong customer service skills, and a positive, friendly demeanor.
- Commitment to continual improvement and thorough understanding of health and safety principles.
