Job description
Overview
Mbuna Inc is expanding and seeking skilled WordPress Developers to support creation and enhancement of websites and digital platforms serving clients locally in Malawi and globally. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to take ownership of delivering assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop full WordPress websites from the ground up
- Create distinct pages and website segments
- Translate designs into functional WordPress layouts
- Utilize WordPress builders such as Bricks or Elementor and others
- Redesign and enhance existing websites
- Build WooCommerce-based e-commerce websites
- Integrate forms and third-party tools with websites
- Maintain and update websites to ensure optimal performance
- Optimize sites for responsiveness and mobile viewing
- Implement basic SEO and improve website speed and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve WordPress-related technical issues
- Perform other tasks to ensure project progression
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing with WordPress
- Portfolio showcasing websites personally developed or contributed to
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Knowledgeable about responsive web design principles
- High attention to detail and quality
- Strong, professional communication skills
- Self-review capability before delivery of work
- Motivated to continually learn and improve
Additional Information
While formal IT or Computer Science qualifications are appreciated, practical WordPress experience accompanied by a portfolio holds greater value. This is a full-time on-site position rather than an internship. Candidates still acquiring WordPress skills and lacking completed websites for demonstration may find this role unsuitable at the moment.
