Role Overview

As a Warehouse Supervisor in our manufacturing unit located in Napier, you will lead a warehouse team focusing on operational excellence and continuous process improvement. This role involves supervising daily warehouse operations, managing resources, and ensuring smooth, efficient workflows. You will foster a data-driven management culture and lead by example across a two-shift schedule with extended production hours, maintaining safety and performance standards through multiple shifts.

Key Duties

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive data records within the ERP system.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor warehouse team members while managing staffing and performance.
  • Ensure adherence to warehouse procedures for timely and accurate data entry of inbound and outbound materials and products.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to optimize warehouse capacity, inventory control, and floor space usage.
  • Identify and implement operational enhancements to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Address critical issues related to products or equipment by working closely with internal teams.
  • Promote and uphold a strong safety-first culture, ensuring all team members return home safely every day.
  • Encourage engagement and accountability across shifts, cultivating inclusiveness, trust, and transparent communication.
  • Participate actively in routine inventory control activities.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with competing priorities, requiring decisive action, resilience, and a balance between leadership and operational focus.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in team supervision and coaching.
  • Proven experience managing teams across multiple shifts or extended hours.
  • Strong abilities in motivating teams, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems such as SAP.
  • Experience working within manufacturing warehouse operations.
  • Advanced understanding of workplace Health and Safety legislation, particularly the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience collaborating across departments.
  • Preferred qualifications include leadership certificates, trade certifications, or relevant formal education.
  • Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand; prior experience in a New Zealand manufacturing environment is advantageous.
