VMC Machine Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled VMC Machine Operator to set up, program, and operate advanced machining equipment for manufacturing precise metallic components. The role requires interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate cutting tools, and ensuring quality production aligned with specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and operate CNC, Vertical Machining Centers (VMC), and Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC) to fabricate complex metal parts based on production blueprints.
• Analyze engineering drawings, including GD&T annotations, to establish dimensions, tolerances, and machining workflow.
• Choose, mount, and secure suitable cutting tools, fixtures, and raw materials on machine beds.
• Conduct trial operations and calibrate machines to achieve tight precision and reduce material waste.
• Inspect final products with precision instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance, maintain coolant systems cleanliness, and communicate equipment issues or tool deterioration promptly.
• Follow strict safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, and maintain organized workstations based on 5S methodology.

Qualification and Skills

• Completed ITI training in Machinist/Turner trade or hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Possess 3 to 6 years of practical experience operating CNC, VMC, and HMC machines in heavy engineering or manufacturing sectors.
• Well-versed with CNC control interfaces including Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi systems.
• Ability to read and modify G-code and M-code programming at the machine level.
• Demonstrates mechanical aptitude, physical endurance, and dedication to producing defect-free components.
