Position Overview
This Utility Courier role involves the collection and delivery of packages to fulfill daily schedules, covering for absent couriers as required. The schedule is variable and requires open availability Sunday through Saturday, averaging 40 hours per week. The starting hourly wage is $22.18, with a scheduled increase after three months as per the collective agreement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and deliver customer packages according to daily schedules.
- Use scanning equipment to track packages and mail upon receipt, delivery, or return to the depot.
- Collaborate with Dispatch and customers to resolve issues encountered during delivery routes.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections before and after trips using electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (E-DVIR) and package scanners.
- Report any vehicle inspection failures to the unit manager promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Completion of high school education.
- Vocational or business studies typically part of high school curriculum are preferred.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driving record to operate delivery vehicles.
- Experience or familiarity with domestic shipping, courier services, and shipping/receiving operations.
- There are no specific language requirements for this role.
