Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to lead the development and strategic direction of our experimentation infrastructure. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting teams across the organization—including Product Engineering, Data Science, Strategy, and Analytics—by providing a robust, scalable experimentation platform that supports fast and reliable software development and measurement.
Responsibilities
- Craft and implement a comprehensive long-term strategy for company-wide experimentation and measurement.
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap for a centralized experimentation platform, built on Eppo and integrated with Faire’s data ecosystem, covering measurement infrastructure, experiment lifecycle management, governance, self-service tools, standards for experiment design, metric creation, and result analysis.
- Collaborate closely with Strategy and Analytics, Product Management, Data Science, and other key stakeholders to ensure the experimentation platform meets diverse functional needs.
Qualifications
- Extensive software engineering background with strong expertise in experimentation, analytics infrastructure, and product development.
- Proven ability to define technical vision and drive adoption of experimentation tools across multiple teams.
- Experience designing, building, and scaling experimentation platforms within SaaS, especially in marketplace or e-commerce contexts.
- Deep knowledge of A/B testing, multivariate testing, feature rollouts, and progressive delivery methodologies.
- Ability to translate business goals into actionable experimentation and measurement capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with commercial or open-source experimentation platforms; familiarity with Eppo is highly advantageous.
- Competence in managing experiment lifecycle and applying rigorous methodologies to ensure trustworthy outcomes.
- Strong collaborative skills to work across disciplines and enhance decision-making rigor.
- Expertise with modern data architectures, notably Snowflake and Databricks.
- Experience with data quality and observability tools such as Anomalo.
- Advanced SQL skills combined with the capacity to design scalable analytical data models.
- Familiarity with technologies including AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, Spark, Python, and Kotlin.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position in Canada spans from $190,500 to $262,000 annually. In addition to base pay, eligible candidates receive equity and comprehensive benefits packages. Actual salary offers will reflect factors such as skills, experience, market considerations, and primary work location.
Work Environment
Faire operates a hybrid work model where employees attend the office three days a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one flexible day) with up to four weeks of remote work allowed annually. Certain roles may require full-time onsite presence.
