Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Planner/Scheduler to join our team in Ras Laffan, Al Khor and Al Thakhira, Qatar. The ideal candidate will manage and update integrated project schedules, analyze project progress, and work closely with EPC contractors to ensure schedule alignment and risk mitigation throughout various project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and oversee integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, focusing on Level 3 and Level 4 planning.
- Engage in interactive planning meetings and contribute to EPC contractor scheduling deliverables.
- Critically review and challenge baseline and update schedules submitted by contractors, including Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
- Conduct in-depth analysis on critical paths, float times, trends, and schedule variances.
- Perform scenario analyses to devise mitigation, recovery, and contingency approaches.
- Validate contractor progress, productivity metrics, earned value, and milestone payments.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in contractor weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Develop detailed 3-week lookahead schedules, dashboards, S-curves, KPIs, and management reports.
- Identify interdependencies and scheduling constraints across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-up phases.
- Assist in schedule risk management, including establishing contingencies and mitigation measures.
- Perform time-impact analyses and aid in evaluating contractor schedule claims.
- Forecast crucial project milestones such as construction completion, mechanical completion, commissioning, and start-up.
- Ensure schedule data is consistent with project cost, risk, change management, and progress control mechanisms.
- Spot emerging scheduling risks and advise Project Management with appropriate recommendations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related field.
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling.
- Advanced expertise with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Strong proficiency in schedule risk analysis and using Acumen Fuse.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Management (EVM), progress measurement, forecasting, and schedule variance analysis.
- Proven ability to critically assess and challenge EPC contractor schedules.
- Experience in recovery planning, mitigation techniques, and time-impact analysis.
- Background in petrochemical sector projects encompassing design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Previous experience with Operator capital projects and/or EPC contractors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Self-driven with leadership qualities and ownership mindset.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards and project execution excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale grassroots petrochemical, LNG, or Oil & Gas capital projects.
- Involvement in project phases including construction, commissioning, and start-up support.
- Previous work experience on projects in the Middle East region.
