Role Overview
This on-site, full-time position based in Midland, Western Australia involves performing thorough Responsible Lending Assessments to ensure loans align with applicants' needs and will not lead to substantial financial hardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed examinations of applicants' recent 90-day bank statements to verify income consistency, salary frequency, and regular living expenses.
- Detect any undisclosed financial obligations such as active payday loans, hidden credit cards, or patterns of gambling behavior.
- Compare applicant information against credit bureau records (including Equifax and Illion) to investigate credit history and default listings.
- Identify and report potentially vulnerable customers, signs of financial distress, or suspicious fraudulent activities to the compliance manager.
- Collaborate with the team to improve internal procedures, ensure thorough documentation, and uphold high standards of client service and privacy.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient numeracy skills with solid understanding of personal finance principles, particularly SACC and MACC lending guidelines.
- Experience using spreadsheets and basic financial software for data management, report generation, and progress tracking.
- Strong communication skills capable of conveying financial information clearly and respectfully to clients with varying financial knowledge.
- Meticulous attention to detail with accuracy in data input and excellent organizational abilities to handle multiple client files simultaneously.
- Customer-focused approach emphasizing discretion, empathy, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Perth and cooperate effectively within a small team environment.
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience working within SACC/MACC lending environments such as Cash Converters, City Finance, Money3, Cash Train, Cash Direct, or Sunshine Loans.
- High financial literacy with competence in quickly analyzing bank statements, payslips, Centrelink income documents, and credit reports.
