Job description
Position Overview
Are you passionate about tackling challenges in payroll? Join CGI's dynamic payroll team in Montreal as a bilingual Payroll Specialist responsible for delivering top-tier payroll services. Collaborate across business units, liaise with Human Resources and government bodies to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance, and contribute to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer Canadian payroll processing accurately and timely.
- Input and verify critical payroll data prior to processing.
- Generate reports to validate payroll data, reconcile year-end T4 and RL1 forms, and complete summaries.
- Oversee Deduction At Source and remittance tasks.
- Confirm payment validity with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenu Québec (RQ), and respond to their inquiries.
- Compose formal communications such as letters to institutions and government agencies.
- Prepare and distribute records of employment to relevant parties.
- Examine existing payroll procedures and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of professional experience in payroll management.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll practices and regulatory standards.
- Certification or training from the Canadian Payroll Association is considered a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Bilingual communication skills in English and French; familiarity with Oracle PeopleSoft is an advantage.
- Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
Compensation and Work Culture
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $60,000 and $115,000, reflective of expertise, location, training, and certifications.
