Laboratory Director

Overview

Microba is seeking a Laboratory Director to lead its NATA/ISO 15189 accredited diagnostic laboratory in Woolloongabba, Brisbane, as the company expands operations. This executive role, which reports directly to the CEO, holds responsibility for key decisions involving production, quality control, and regulatory compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for the diagnostic laboratory, ensuring smooth scalability and efficiency.
• Maintain and oversee compliance with NATA/ISO 15189 accreditation standards and ISO 13485 certification.
• Manage technology advancements, lead systems integration efforts, and facilitate the commercial launch of new diagnostic tests.

Candidate Requirements

• Holds a PhD or Fellowship in fields relevant to diagnostic or molecular microbiology.
• Possesses a minimum of five years of pertinent laboratory experience.
• Proven experience leading a high-volume NATA/ISO 15189 accredited laboratory and demonstrated strong leadership in managing personnel.
• Experience with CAP accreditation is considered an advantage.
