Junior EHS Officer

About the Role and Company

This role supports various projects across Limerick, Cork, and other locations in Ireland including Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, Government, and Technology sectors. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with conducting site safety audits and inspections, ensuring identified issues are resolved.
• Contribute to the preparation, review, and dissemination of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
• Ensure comprehensive maintenance of EHS documentation such as training logs, inspection reports, permits, and mandatory registers.
• Support and participate in site inductions and toolbox chats to promote safe work practices.
• Aid the investigation and documentation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses on site.
• Observe and ensure adherence to health and safety legislation and internal safety policies.
• Contribute to environmental management efforts on site, including waste segregation practices and spill prevention.
• Review sub-contractor safety compliance through assessment of their safety documents and certifications.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Possession of, or active pursuit towards, a qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction or related fields.
• A strong enthusiasm to develop a career in construction health, safety, and environmental management.
• Familiarity with health and safety laws, ideally including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and Construction Regulations.
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and confidence engaging with both site teams and management.
• Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
• Must hold a valid clean driving license; possession of Safe Pass certification or willingness to obtain it is advantageous.
