Junior Architect

Position Overview

Pastel Design Studio in Kolkata is seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Architect to join their expanding design team. This full-time on-site role requires a professional with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and 2 to 3 years of experience. The candidate will engage in both architectural and interior design projects, contributing from the early design phase through to detailed drawings and on-site coordination.

Key Duties

• Support design and development of architectural and interior projects.
• Create concept designs, space plans, layouts, and design presentations.
• Produce architectural drawings including plans, elevations, sections, and detailed specifications.
• Prepare interior design drawings such as furniture arrangements, ceiling and flooring plans, electrical layouts, and detailed interior documentation.
• Generate and coordinate working and construction drawings along with specifications.
• Develop 3D models and visual presentations when necessary.
• Collaborate with senior architects, designers, consultants, vendors, and contractors.
• Assist in selecting materials and devising material palettes.
• Conduct site visits, measurements, and coordinate project activities.
• Track project progress and aid in resolving design and implementation challenges.
• Ensure all project drawings and designs are consistent with requirements and timelines.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture is mandatory.
• Professional experience of 2 to 3 years in architecture and/or interior design projects.
• Solid knowledge of architectural planning, detailing, and construction drawings.
• Experience handling both architectural and interior design assignments.
• Mandatory proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, 3D modelling software, and rendering tools preferred.
• Knowledge of Revit/BIM software is an advantage.
• Strong design sensibility with attention to proportions, materials, detailing, and aesthetics.
• Good understanding of building materials, finishes, and construction techniques.
• Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet project deadlines.
