Java Software Engineer – Spring Boot and AWS

Position Overview

Join ACP Group as a Java Software Engineer responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing, and delivery of software solutions tailored for an Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system or its high-volume, performance-critical back office applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to gather requirements and maintain the software.
• Design and build software aligned with the project needs and ensure comprehensive documentation throughout the SDLC.
• Produce key deliverables such as Business Rules, Software Requirement Specifications, architecture and design documents, interface specifications, source code, testing protocols, and user manuals.
• Support the Authority by addressing daily application support issues and liaise with users regarding requirements, design, and testing matters.

Candidate Qualifications and Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years in software development.
• Experience completing at least one full software development lifecycle, including document production.
• Proficient in requirement analysis, design, development, and deployment of complex enterprise-grade Java/JEE applications across UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong skills in database programming using SQL and DAO concepts, with hands-on experience in MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Hands-on expertise with Spring Framework and Spring Boot technologies.
• Knowledge of software modernization, containerization, and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile development and continuous integration practices.
• Skilled in crafting Requirements Specifications, Use Cases, Design Documentation, object-oriented designs, and UML modeling.
• Experience with AWS ECS, Docker containerization, and a deep understanding of DevOps best practices.

Additional Advantages

• Experience with message queues and Solace platform.
• Knowledge of cloud computing technologies including Kubernetes, AWS ECS Fargate, AWS RDS, and AWS Lambda.
• Understanding of Automatic Fare Collection systems.
• Exposure to EMV standards and PCI DSS compliance.
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
• Front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON.
• Secure communication protocols such as SFTP and HTTPS.
• Experience with Angular or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Java unit testing frameworks.
